Rural Carrier Associate

Job Overview

As a Rural Carrier Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to navigate various driving routes safely. You will be responsible for operating your own vehicle which can be operated on the right side. There is compensation for mileage and equipment maintenance compensation for using your personal vehicle. Paid training, paid mileage to and from training, and overtime compensation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
• Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles.
• Load and unload mail and packages efficiently, utilizing equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks when necessary.
• Ensure accurate delivery by verifying addresses and maintaining organized delivery logs.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving of mail as required during the delivery process.
• Follow all safety protocols while driving and handling mail.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
• Experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
• Proficient in operating box trucks and other delivery vehicles.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
• Familiarity with using forklifts and pallet jacks for loading/unloading tasks.
• Comfortable driving on various routes, including rural areas, with an understanding of route driving practices.
• Experience with manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
