Full-Time Housing Inspector – San Diego County, CA

Gilson Inspection Services, a division of Gilson Housing Partners, provides inspection and housing-related services to Housing Authorities nationwide, including Property Management, Maintenance, Inspections, Call Center Services, and Software Solutions.

We are seeking multiple Full-Time Housing Inspectors to support a new and high-volume project with the Housing Authority of the County of San Diego (HACSD). This role will involve performing inspections across a large jurisdiction with a significant and consistent volume of units.

The primary service area includes San Diego County, covering unincorporated areas as well as the following incorporated cities:

Chula Vista, Coronado, Del Mar, El Cajon, Escondido, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Poway, San Marcos, Santee, Solana Beach, and Vista.

Due to the size of the portfolio and expected inspection volume, we anticipate the need for 10 or more inspectors to support operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, annual, and re-inspections for Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) units
• Conduct Public Housing inspections
• Inspect housing units, apartments, and other residential properties
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including those of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Housing Quality Standards (HQS), and local building codes

Inspection Volume & Compensation

Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Inspections

• Initial and Annual Inspections: $12 per inspection
• Re-inspections: $7 per inspection

Public Housing Inspections

• $7 per inspection

This position offers high inspection volume, providing strong earning potential based on productivity.

Qualifications

• Public Housing or Section 8 inspection experience is not required but is a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required

Training

Gilson Inspection Services will provide Public Housing Inspection training, including instruction on inspection applications, software, and industry standards.
