Food Service Worker / Kitchen Helper/ Dietary Aide
The Food Service Worker role involves supporting the supervisor in food and meal preparation while managing cash receipts and meal records. You'll contribute to preparing daily reports, ensuring high-quality food production, sanitation, and maintaining safety standards in the kitchen.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare quality meals and baked goods following a set menu
- Compile a daily report to confirm transactions
- Understand meal components
- Store food safely and hygienically
- Serve food following schedules, policies, and procedures
- Properly use and care for kitchen equipment, focusing on knives
- Efficiently prepare a range of food items and drinks
- Enhance meals with garnishments for customer satisfaction and visual appeal
- Assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment
- Comply with all food safety standards for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Follow the uniform policy
- Communicate with the Supervisor to prepare daily menus accurately
- Monitor food temperature requirements
- Keep work and storage areas clean and organized
- Clean and sanitize counters, steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow procedures and standards for maintaining cleanliness to ensure a safe environment, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- Ensure garbage collection and kitchen floor areas are clean and hygienic
- Perform other assigned tasks including other areas in the kitchen
- This position may involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Wearing uniforms and using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) might be required.

Qualifications
- Food Service Certificate, if required
- Education or training sufficient to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
